Block of the Month - Applique Contemporary

Beautiful appliquéd butterflies will flutter across your quilt room as you construct this Block of the Month quilt designed by Roxy Burgard. Each butterfly is set on point and surrounded by four colorful batik fabrics. You'll find 12 different butterfly blocks, named after real butterflies, plus a finishing pattern that includes instructions for the border. Instructions for both traditional and fusible web methods of application, plus the batik fabric and pattern you need to complete each block are included. A Finishing Kit to turn it into a gorgeous quilt is available at the end of the program. Completed quilt measures approximately 48" x 60". Using the traditional red and green coloration of the 1840s, Seasons Remembered, designed by Jane Davis, features the fine buttonhole stitch applique that 19th Century women used to showcase their needle skills. There are 12 stunning, traditional applique designs (suitable for 18" blocks) in this spectacular block of the month series, plus a finishing pattern that includes the leaf border. Full-sized patterns, plus instructions for both traditional and fusible web methods of applique are included. This block of the month quilt takes you back to a delightful boyhood summer spent on the farm. Inspired by a trip to her husband’s childhood home, designer Roxy Burgard created 14 individual 12" quilt blocks depicting a variety of scenes around the farm. A large center panel features the barn with a fence, silo and sun. The quilt can be made using traditional or fusible web applique. Fourteen monthly kits contain the fabric you need to make a quilt block. The Middle Panel Kit is sent in the 15th month, and the Finishing Kit of Sashing, Borders, and Binding is sent in the 16th month. Completed of the quilt is  72" x 90".
