BLOCK OF THE MONTH CLUBS

Continuing our series on the Stories of Old Oregon, this block of the month focuses on the fascinating history of how many of the towns in Oregon were founded--how they got their names, their early history, prominent citizens of the day, and beginnings of each town’s commerce and industry. You'll learn about the heroic struggles and sacrifices--as well as the hard won accomplishments--of Oregon's earliest settlers. First published in the 1930s, The Alphabet Quilt was part of the Nancy Page quilt club. Now in the public domain, it remains a popular quilt to make for a special little one. This block of the month quilt takes you back to a delightful boyhood summer spent on the farm. Inspired by a trip to her husband’s childhood home, designer Roxy Burgard created 14 individual 12" quilt blocks depicting a variety of scenes around the farm. A large center panel features the barn with a fence, silo and sun. The quilt can be made using traditional or fusible web applique. Fourteen monthly kits contain the fabric you need to make a quilt block.
