Happiness in your Mail Box! Batik designs begin when a pattern is applied to fabric in wax, naturally repelling the dye color. Dyes are applied by hand, the cloth boiled, and the wax melted away. No two yards are exactly alike, but that’s the beauty of it all! Each month of this stash building club you will receive six fat quarters (18"x22") of batik fabric. Gemstones Block of the Month Quilt is filled with hand-dyed batik fabric in the beautiful batik colors representing the months of the year gems. Each month for 12 months, you receive the pattern and fabric to create a 12" finished quilt block. An informational sheet about that month's gemstone is also included. This is a great way to gain confidence as you build your quilting skills! Patterns are easy to follow with color photos. A Finishing Kit to turn it into a gorgeous quilt is available at the end of the program. Completed quilt measures approximately 57" x 72". Shipping is included in the price of the monthly blocks.
